It turns out that there is a fake USB memory stick that charges up on your computer and then lets go a massive electrical spike directly into your USB port. Unless your computer is rated for a lightning strike it may not survive this attack.
Now you may be saying: Who would do this to their own computer? You might be surprised. For instance, if you threw a bunch of memory sticks, flash drives, or USB sticks in the parking lot that were labeled "FREE PORN" I think there are an alarming number of nimrods who would stick that stick into their own computer and some would even flash fry their work computer to a crackly crunch with those bad boys.
Never take free software from an unknown source.
Free flash drives, free memory sticks or free USB drives scattered in a parking lot should be treated like free used syringes from an AIDS infected junkie.
